  • Description
Only a few cities in Europe offer the historical and cultural variety as the Czech Capital Prague. The tradition of music lives not only in the many concert halls of the “Golden Town”, but also on the roads and in the pubs. Smetana, Dvorak and Mozart have coined Prague musically; today this tradition is continued by composers as Petr Eben and Zděnek Lukáč. Prague offers daily hundreds of concerts in all musical genres.
Since 1999, the Prague Advent Sing is organized by music&friends without interruption with more than 40 Czech and foreign choirs every year. The organization of concerts at the central Christmas Market at the Old Town Square during the weekends is done by music&friends including the planning, presentation and assistance.
One of the most beautiful squares in Europe is the Old Town Square, home of the central Christmas Market with a nice open-air stage. Many people come here to listen to Christmas carols from choirs from different countries. Available  are locked containers, a multilingual presenter and a sound system.
Concert halls for the friendship concerts are the Music Academy HAMU in the Liechtenstein-Palace and the art deco-style hall of Hlahol, one of the oldest choirs in Prague, where Smetana has been one of the first choir directors. At the end of each friendship concert all  choirs sing a common song.
Concerts in churches in Prague: The Nicholas Church at the Old Town Square (built 1732-1737) is every year the main place for church concerts. Church services can be planned at the weekends - in the famous St Vitus Cathedral and other churches.

  • Comments from participating choirs:
The bus trip to the Hotel Diplomat in Prague was without any problem. The reserved, free parking for our tour bus at the hotel was really good. Upon arrival everything was well organized. The key cards for the rooms were prepared and distributed in the coach. The very competent tour guide welcomed us in the bus and gave some information about the program and the time for a reception and the dinner. The special permission for our bus to drive up to the concert hall of the Academy of Performing Arts HAMU and Hotel Intercontinental, was a great work of your organization. The rehearsal in the hotel, as well as the friendship concert in the concert hall Martinu and the carol singing on the open-air stage at the Old Town Square remain in good memory for us because everything was great organized. The mood at the Old Town Square was a special experience for the large audience and Christmas market visitors. Some melodies of our Advent songs should be well known in the Czech Republic. Our travellers were very satisfied and enthusiastic with our trip and generally of Prague, thanks to your very good organization. (Chorgemeinschaft Gallneukirchen, Austria)
Thank you so much for the lovely time in Prague, and a wonderful arrangement!
We in the choir have all appreciated the help we got before arriving in Prague - both with information about the arrangement, Prague and practical issues! And also the detailed program we got, specially tailored for our choir; much appreciated. (Lots of work for you there, thank you!) It was really well organized!
It was really nice meeting the other choirs, from different countries - making connections across borders. We even got invited to two different countries!
We´d love to come back for any future arrangements (Ladies Choir Oslo, Norway)
The trip to Prague was a very good experience for our choir.  The whole event, accommodation, concerts and guide was very well organized and everything ran according to the plan.  We certainly recommend to go with music&friends (Morsoe Pigekoret , Denmark
  • Additional comments:
The Advent Choral Festival in Prague presented the participants with a maximum term of: Majesty of the music, artistic communication and enrichment of the choir and the participants are the four pillars of this wonderful annual event in the wonderful city of Prague. These are the four key points of this EVENTS, which brings a number of choirs from around the world together to enjoy a few days and to inspire people at various concerts throughout the city. And all this without any pressure of a competition. What a wonderful show! Our choir "UCV" - Catholic University of Valencia has experienced all this in 2013. We performed a warm, welcoming, cordial interaction with other choirs and experienced the good organization of this wonderful choir festival in Prague Advent. And of course, we hope to return here again. (Choir of the Catholic University of Valencia, Spain)
35 Australians shared an experience which they will never forget - they saw things they only read about in books - and 25 young Aussie kids sang in some of the most beautiful and renowned places in Europe. It was such a thrill and it is impossible to describe our feelings adequately….It is the end of what has been the most amazing tour, where we have experienced things that should be etched in our memories for the rest of our lives. (Bendigo Youth Choir Australia)
Back from Prague with wonderful memories! The choir members enjoyed our visit to the city of Prague as this was for many of us the first trip to the Czech Republic. Our performances in Hlahol Concert Hall, a hall with such a long history, as well as in the Old Town Square were totally new experiences for us. We enjoyed the snow and now we are back in the sunshine. We are sure that some of us will return to Prague soon! (Cyta Choir, Nicosia, Cyprus)
  • Additional comments:
Our trip to Berlin and Prague was truly a lifetime experience for these high school students from a small town in West Texas. The Hlahol Concert Hall and St. Nicholas Church were amazing places to sing and the choir will remember the feelings they had as they performed for years to come….This was the second trip we made and are already planning the third one in 2010! (KISD Honor Choir, Texas, USA)
The hosts and the cosy atmosphere kept us warm and welcome even at the freezing wintery temperatures. The choir director will certainly remember her birthday celebration, when 'Happy Birthday' was sung to her in three different languages, as one of here best” (Mixed choir HKD LISINSKI Našice, Croatia)
Our recent travel to the lovely city of Prague was one of the best experiences my High School Choir has ever had! The concert venues were wonderful, the hotel was great and our MCI guide was there for us the entire time. (The Covenant Singers, Virginia, USA)
I want to thank in the name of the choir for the wonderful days in Prague. Everything has been organized perfectly and all participants are delighted from the organization and the hotel. Thanks for all and see you at the next event. (Coro Cima Vezzena, Italy)I would not fail to thank you for the perfect organization of our stay in Prague! Even at the Info-Weekend 2010, I felt that we are in good hands with you; our choir members are excited about this fantastic city, which has been brought to us by Pavla with her big knowledge, much charm and kindness. The friendship concerts in HAMU and the St. Nicholas Church, and of course, the church service in the St. Vitus Cathedral will remain in our great memories (Mixed Choir Langnau a.A., Switzerland)
  • Additional comments:
Our stay in Prague went very well. The organization was perfect. You really are the professionals in the line of business! The 3 concerts went very well. We have brought a little from our Sardinian tradition and that is as always very appreciated by the audience ... the guide was prepared very well and helped us in organizing the transfers, etc. The hotel was very pleasant and we can say that we travelled home more than happy (Cantori della Resurrezione, Italy)
For all participating singers of the choir of the ADAC (General German Automobile Association) the days in Prague will remain unforgettable. The city tours with well informed guide as well as the meetings with the singers of the other choirs gave us much pleasure. The organization leave nothing to be desired. The concert in the impressing scenery of the Christmas Market at the Old Town Square has been the closing highlight of this tour. We are already planning the next tour. (Choir of the ADAC (General German Automobile Association) Munich, Germany)
"I want to thank you for the great organization. It really has worked perfectly .... Mary as a tour guide was perfect and professionally competent. Altogether an event, we will remember a long time" (chorus voestalpine Linz, Austria)
I thank you on behalf of all participants. It was a great experience for us and a perfect organization! All of our requests, demands and needs have been implemented in Prague, we have very much appreciated. If we will make a tour in the future, we will contact you again. (Coro Io Tu Noi, Italy)

After a few days back at home we let pass the tour revue and I want to thank you and your staff very much for the excellent organization.
On the first day in Plzen everything went fine and the welcome - drink in the very good Hotel Diplomat in Prague, with a delicious buffet as well as the check-in, everything went like a clockwork. The highlight was the concert in the Academy of Performing Arts HAMU and on Sunday morning the singing in St. Nicholas Church worship. The Christmas market at Old Town Square was great. Thanks again and see you soon! (Herchenröder Quartet, 1913, Frankfurt,Germany)
Thank to your most efficient organization the whole weekend was superb. All the concerts were also most enjoyable and well organized and it was nice to meet other choral directors at the little lunch.  The Christmas Fayre concert attracted hundreds of people and was a good contrast to the other more sedate groups. (St Vincent Singers Gosport, Great Britain)
I want to take this opportunity to thank you again for the excellent organization. This made it possible for us to know facets of Prague, which would otherwise be hidden. The concerts in the church and HAMU were very impressive and the final evening of the Strahov Monastery for all an unforgettable experience ... The hotel was perfect and our local guide Pavla just a lucky strike. She enriched our short stay in the beautiful city of Prague with interesting and humorous information without any hectic. It has been especially for our older participants a very pleasant kind of guided tour. We all grow on Pavla quickly and at the end there have been some tears on both sides. (Choral Society 1863 Klingenberg, Germany)
